Victoria Kimani: Rise of the Queen Victoria

In 2014, the pop diva released her first Docuseries, “Victoria Kimani: The Rise Queen Victoria”, produced by Chocolate City and Reel TV. The series focused on her life after signing with Chocolate City. It covered her studio sessions, performances, and behind-the-scenes moments, including preparing for a concert with Mary J. Blige. The show also documented her high-profile industry encounters as a major African female artiste, her fashion, and her “turn-up” lifestyle.
The series was part of a broader marketing effort surrounding her mixtape and musical career during her time with Chocolate City. With the new series coming up, Victoria Kimani wants to strengthen her brand with her fanbase beyond music. With the rise of content creation, the diva wants to tap into the growing trend of African artists owning their narratives.
After being in the game for more than 20 years, Kimani has had a global-facing career, shuffling between Kenya, Nigeria and the United States. Kimani quit the label after 5 years, to pursue an independent music career. She has released 4 studios since; Afropolitan, Afreaka, Spirit and her latest LP, Mood 4 Life.

The content would be a mix behind-the-scenes (BTS), personal struggles and wins, controversies or untold stories of her career. The first episode drops this Friday on YouTube.
